About this event

Port Moody,BC to Deep Cove and back. We go outbound over Burnaby Mountain, returning a different route over the mountain.
41 miles. 75% paved, 24% unpaved (30mm+ tires recommended, gravel tread is nice)
3,000' climbing

This route should offer some good biking variety from great flowy greenways separated from traffic, bike lanes on fairly busy urban routes and good gravel through the trees of Burnaby Mountain. Of course there will be views a plenty. The destination is Deep Cove which has coffee shops and a great bakery. Oh, and views! We cross high above the Burrard inlet on the iconic Ironworker's Memorial Bridge. We should be back well before the listed time which would give us time for a refreshment and/or a fuel-up from a food truck near the parking before traffic builds.

Please carpool if possible. Contact me if you would like help coordinating that.

Please refer to the Ride classification table in the rides menu.
Tempo B If you are comfortable with 13-16 on the flat and 40ish miles with some long climbs, you will enjoy this ride ??
Topography D (some long steady climbs, some steep descents - keep speed controlled as some areas are congested)
Traffic D It's Vancouver! There will be long stretches of separated bikeway but also some areas of high vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist congestion. Bring a bell and use it! Expect the unexpected!)
