MBBC works with a number of local groups who provide education to kids and adults looking to improve their skills and safety while cycling. We support Ride Run and Dig, the Sterling Bike Works, Whatcom Smart Trips, and we put on our own classes to train ride leaders and to teach bike maintenance.
The MBBC supports Bike to Work/School Day morning "celebration stations" including purchasing treats and prizes to distribute to people riding their bikes on the nationwide bike-day (the third Friday in May). This fund supports stations in Bellingham and in Everson/Nooksack.
The MBBC maintains a fund to support community projects that promote cycling in Bellingham and Whatcom County. Some community projects have been: contribution toward purchase of the YMCA "Cycling without Age" Trishaw bike, installation of bike racks at schools, conversion of retired WTA bus shelters into bike shelters, contributions of helmets and lights to schools, and other individual donations.
